Save the date on April 14 for The Great Get-Together at Elyson
Nothing says “spring” like an old-fashioned picnic, and Elyson is inviting everyone to celebrate the season at The Great Get-Together on Saturday, April 14, from 1-6 p.m.
This free, family-friendly event will have a “Wizard of Oz” theme. After all, there’s no place like home, and that’s what Elyson is all about.
Dorothy will greet guests as they arrive at Elyson’s Model Home Village, and there will also be a living Tin Man statue and a Scarecrow on jumping stilts.
A chalk artist will help kids create their own artwork with Wizard of Oz themed templates. Face painters, balloon artists, caricature artists, and arts and crafts activities will add to the fun, and a DJ will be on hand to spin tunes.
Kids of all ages can also enjoy train rides around the Model Home Village, a hamster ball collision course, inflatables and a petting zoo. Guests will also enjoy carnival games like tic tac toe, ring toss, can smash, sack races and a hula hoop station.
Delicious treats will include cotton candy, popcorn, mini funnel cakes and lemonade.
From 4-6 p.m., guests are invited to enjoy live music on the lawn at Elyson House community center, right next door to the model homes. Houston’s Hybrid 7 band will play upbeat dance hits and classic Motown favorites, and Elyson Café will offer its regular menu, along with specials and wine, beer and sangria.
