Cork It Katy, a romantic wine bar with food and brunch, is open in Elyson
Moving to Katy from out of state a few years ago, John and Brenda Quiles quickly fell in love with the area’s quality of life, especially the highly regarded Katy ISD schools for their kids.
About the only thing they found missing was a local place with a romantic vibe for date nights.
Both self-starters – he owns an engineering consulting firm and she’s a real estate agent – John and Brenda decided to fix that. The result is Cork It Katy, an intimate wine bar now open in The Co-Op at Elyson, at 6845 Peek Road, Suite 210.
“We got tired of driving into Houston to find a place for a romantic evening out, so we decided to open a wine bar near our house,” said John.
Cork It Katy offers a thoughtfully curated variety of red, white and sparkling, available by the glass or bottle.
“We source our wines from around the world, offering our customers a good selection of varieties they won’t find in their local grocery store,” he said.
The menu also includes charcuterie boards, small bites and dips, sandwiches such as flatbreads and paninis, and desserts. A Wine Club with exclusive deals and events for members is also planned.
Cork It Katy is open daily with varying hours throughout the week. They also serve Sunday Brunch from 10-4.
John said Elyson is the perfect location for the new business, which has drawn lively crowds since opening in early 2024.
“Elyson is growing at a phenomenal rate, and we are excited to open in the last space at The Co-Op,” he said. “Judging from our early success, Brenda and I weren’t the only ones wishing for a romantic spot close to home. There are lots of sports bars around, but nothing like Cork It Katy.”
Despite its intimate atmosphere, Cork It Katy is family friendly, so feel free to bring the kids.
