Brookfield’s new Rutgers model homes at Elyson filled with creative design ideas
Elyson is the first community in Houston where you can tour new model homes from Brookfield Residential, the homebuilding division of the fifth largest real estate development company in North America.
Brookfield’s Rutgers is one of 14 model homes now open in Elyson’s new Model Home Village, which also includes the Elyson Welcome Center. It showcases Brookfield’s Traditional Homes Collection, priced from the high $300Ks.
The Rutgers shows the open, light-filled interiors and inviting outdoor living spaces that make Brookfield a standout, along with leading edge technologies and flexible floor plans that can be customized in many different ways.
One of the things that make this model so fun and inspiring to visit are the many design ideas noted throughout on cleverly placed wall signs. The signs include QR codes offering handy tips on how visitors can achieve these looks for themselves.
Here’s a quick tour through the Rutgers, stopping to note some of the most interesting design inspirations.
“Hey Honey(comb)!” is one of the first signs you’ll see, calling attention to the modern honeycomb tile floor in one of our favorite areas, the combined mudroom and laundry area. “This gorgeous tile is available in our Design Center,” the sign notes.
The mudroom has a built-in backpack rack with storage cubbies above and below the convenient bench. A “Spoiled Dogs Live Here” theme makes this thoughtfully planned area all the more adorable.
This spacious area also contains the staircase and the laundry room, which is part of a timesaving “laundry loop” connected to the main bedroom suite and luxurious primary bath.
A series of large windows floods the main living area with natural light, and the dark blue painted window trim offers a nice contrast to the primary white color. Titled “In the Navy,” a sign informs that the contrasting framing color surrounding the windows is part of the Brookfield design package.
Accent colors are a theme throughout this model. “Painting trim and windows is a visually stunning way to add color to a room without painting the walls,” another sign suggests.
The Rutgers also displays an appealing variety of colors and textures through the eclectic international flair of its furnishings and accessories.
The kitchen serves up a number of creative design details, including wood-look tile floors in a herringbone pattern, and painted cabinetry that matches the window trim.
Another favorite feature is a built-in coffee bar in the breakfast area, complete with glass-front cabinets. The spacious covered patio and open terrace offer enticing areas to enjoy your morning coffee outside.
Upstairs, the Rutgers displays three more bedrooms with fun accent walls, bold contrasting trim and other creative details. As always, signs such as “Walk the Line” are helpful tour guides, with QR codes offering quick links for inspiration and tips to help you achieve these inspired looks.
Brookfield’s new model homes are among 14 fully furnished model homes you can tour at Elyson. Most are located in our Model Home Village, while a few others are a short drive away. The best place to begin your visit to Elyson is at our new Welcome Center, also in the Model Home Village. Here, you can pick up a map, visit with our friendly community representatives, and get a tour of the new Lakeside Landing community center next door.
