Village Builders offers new plans in Elyson for multigenerational families
A record number of Americans are living in multigenerational households, defined as homes with grandparents and grandchildren, or with two or more adult generations. A Pew Research Center analysis found that about 20 percent of Americans, or 64 million people, now live in such extended families.
With its innovative NextGen series, Lennar was one of the first homebuilders to create new homes especially designed for multigenerational families. Lennar aptly describes NextGen as “two homes under one roof,” and as a “home within a home.”
Lennar’s move-up division, Village Builders, has added two NextGen plans to its offerings in Elyson.
The Ellsworth is a two-story plan with a NextGen suite on the first floor. It has a private outside entrance, with another entrance from a separate one-car garage. There is also an inside entrance from the main home’s foyer.
The Ellsworth’s NextGen suite has a spacious living room that is open to a kitchenette. It also has a bedroom suite with a full bath.
Apart from the NextGen suite, the 3,042-square-foot Ellsworth offers all the features of a spacious traditional home, including a downstairs owner’s suite and three more bedrooms upstairs. It has an open family room and kitchen area, along with a covered patio and a dining room with a bow-bay window. Upstairs, it has a gameroom, with an option for a media room.
The Picardy II is another NextGen plan, with a living suite similar to that of the Ellsworth. The largest Village Builders plan offered in Elyson, the Picardy II has 3,688 square feet, with six bedrooms, five bathrooms and a three-car garage.
In addition to the NextGen suite, the Picardy II has two more bedrooms downstairs, the owner’s suite and a guest bedroom. A gameroom and three more bedrooms are upstairs, and there is the option of adding a media room.
Darling Homes also offers multigenerational floor plans in Elyson.
