Home Design Ideas We Love
Glass-front cabinets – always in style. There’s a reason glass-front cabinets never go out of style. Their gleaming, transparent fronts showcase your treasures and offer a nice contrast to solid-door cabinets. In this model home in Elyson, the builder uses clear-glass pendant lights to beautifully harmonize with several sets of glass-front cabinets. The classic white cabinet paint goes perfectly with the glass, with the dark colors of the countertops and floors providing a nice contrast. And we’ve already raved about that blue door.
Lighting director. Displayed as a nursery in Pulte’s Elyson model home, this bedroom shows that a baby’s room can combine whimsy with elegance. The adjustable light fixture doubles as a conversation piece, and the fun table lamp offers more illumination. We also love the funky oversized wall letter and the shiplap accent wall.
Drama on all walls – even the ceiling. This primary bedroom suite from Westin exudes casual elegance, with its textured shiplap accent wall and its multiple pendant light fixtures. The double-recessed ceiling emphasizes the spacious dimensions of this relaxing retreat.
A modern take on the farmhouse sink. Sharp tailoring is not just for clothes, as this kitchen sink from this model home by Highland Homes in Elyson so beautifully demonstrates. The deeper basin of the farmhouse sink also allows pots and pans of larger sizes to be washed easier than with a traditional sink and reduces splashing when doing so.
Outdoor elegance. The perfect furnishings provide the finishing touch for this outdoor living area in Darling’s Elyson model. The green cushions of the sofa and chairs harmonize with the backyard landscaping, and planting the right flowers can easily enhance the purple hues of the dramatic pots. A large artwork anchors the outdoor fireplace wall and draws the eye up to the vaulted ceiling. Stone plinths and brick pavers complete this natural look.
