Elyson students to attend 3 new Katy ISD schools in August
With spring break still a recent memory, the next school year might seem a little far off. But for parents and students in the new Elyson community in the Katy Independent School District, the 2017-18 school year will begin some exciting new chapters.
Starting in August, all K-12 students living in Elyson will attend new Katy ISD schools, all located in a state-of-the-art tri-campus at Clay and Peek roads, approximately two miles from the community.
Stockdick Junior High School and Paetow High School will open in August in the tri-campus, adjacent to Bethke Elementary School, which opened in 2016.
“High-quality education is a top priority for Elyson and our residents, and we’re especially happy that all students from grades K-12, will attend a cohesive tri-campus so close to the community,” said Heather Gustafson, marketing director for Newland.
Receiving an overall grade of A+, Katy ISD was recently ranked as the No. 2 Best School District in the Houston region by Niche.com. With more than 70,000 students and 63 campuses, Katy ISD ranked second only to the much smaller Friendswood ISD, which has about 6,000 students at six campuses.
Katy ISD also received A+ grades in the Niche report in the Academics, Diversity and College Readiness categories. The district received an A grade for Teachers, and B+ marks for Clubs & Activities and Health & Safety. The rankings are based on Niche’s rigorous analysis of data from the U.S. Department of Education.
Located at Grand Parkway and FM 529, approximately midway between I-10 West and U.S. 290, Elyson offers new homes priced from the mid $200,000s to $600,000s.
