Now that the University of Houston System (UHS) has closed on the purchase of 46 acres for its new Katy campus, some exciting new information is available.
As we detailed in our blog post about the origin of Elyson’s name, the community is named after Ely Freeman, one of the original members of the Freeman family, who first settled this land in 1898.
Opening in August 2016, Katy ISD’s new Bethke Elementary School will welcome the youngest students in Elyson with a state-of-the-art design that fosters collaborative learning.
